City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
March 20, 2019
Roll Call: Present: Mayor: Ed Mosser; Council Members: Jim Beach, Dale Hedensten; Pat Stenzel, Arik Mattson; City Clerk: Nicole LaFrance; Maintenance Operator: Bill Guggisberg
Meeting was called to order by Council Member Beach at 6:30 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance was said
Oath of Office was said by Mayor Ed Mosser
Motion was made by Stenzel to approve the January 16, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes —2nd by Matson—carried.
There was no public comment.
Maintenance Report: Guggisberg spoke about water school, snow removal, new conservation reporting by Department of Natural Resources, and clean up day.
Unfinished Business: Delinquent water/sewer accounts were tabled.
Motion made by Beach to approve Resolution 2019-3 Donation to Parks-Flower Barrels – 2nd by Stenzel -carried.
New Business: Fire hydrants were discussed in reference to snow removal for them to cleaned out after a snow fall. The city will make its best effort to make sure to removal the snow with tractor, but residents, depending on snow fall, may need to assist with digging out directly around the hydrants as the tractor can only do so much. If a resident is physically unable to remove the snow, they may contact the city for assistance. In October 2019, the city will relay this information to residents for efficiency. There are 30+ hydrants in the city.
New Business: The city fire service contribution was discussed.
Motion made by Beach to accept and approve the Accounts Payable and Reconciliation Reports –2nd by Hedensten—carried. City clerk invoiced Freeborn Township for Fire/Ambulance-City Building Insurance split. As well as snow removal.
Miscellaneous Items: There was no miscellaneous items to report.
Motion made by Beach to adjourn —2nd by Stenzel—carried.
