City Council Regular Meeting Minutes

May 15, 2019

 

 

Roll Call: Present:  Council Members: Jim Beach, Dale Hedensten, Arik Matson, Pat Stenzel; City Clerk: Nicole LaFrance; Maintenance Operator: Bill Guggisberg; Absent: Mayor: Ed Mosser; Public: Sharon Honstad

 

Meeting was called to order by Council Member Beach at 6:30 p.m.

 

Pledge of Allegiance was said

 

Motion was made by Stenzel to approve the April 17, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes —2nd by Hedensten—carried.

 

Public Comment: Sharon Honstad was present to update on projected playground project and donations. Their committee would like to request funds from city to pay a 70×70 landscaping pad for the playground. The committee hopes to get this completed this summer.

 

Maintenance Report:  Guggisberg spoke about previous generator discussion and contacts made. Also about possibly replacing 3-4 flower barrels. One banners is missing, and a blacktop path leading to playground.

 

Unfinished Business: Delinquent water/sewer accounts were discussed.

 

New Business: City received a sample contract from League of MN Cities for shared equipment between another city. City revised for Freeborn and will send over to Hartland for approval or revisions.

 

New Business: Council discussed water bill for 204 4th Ave. There will be no changes made.

 

New Business: Council discussed 306 Park Street, and request for a storage container and housing program. Council agrees the smaller storage shed/container would be fine for property.

 

New Business: Council discussed fire department’s request for assistance and help setting up tables. There will be enough volunteers available to assist. Clean up day is scheduled for May 18th.

 

Motion made by Matson to approve Resolution 2019-5 Donations for Park Department for Park Equipment – 2nd by Hedensten -carried.

 

Motion made by Matson to accept and approve the Accounts Payable and Reconciliation Reports –2nd by Stenzel—carried. This also included the fire and ambulance payables.

 

Miscellaneous Items: There was no miscellaneous items to report.

 

Motion made by Hedensten to adjourn —2nd by Stenzel—carried.
